GETTING TO BOHOL

International travel to Bohol

Manila is the capital of the Philippines and home to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), the main port of entry for international travelers coming to the Philippines. All major international airlines fly to Manila.

From Manila you can take a flight to Tagbilaran Airport (TAG) in Bohol, or you fly to Cebu Airport (CEB) and take a passenger ferry. Currently a New Bohol airport is being built in Panglao, the Panglao International Airport, which will take over operations from Tagbilaran Airport by end of 2018. The new airport will keep the same code (TAG). The New Bohol Airport will serve as the premiere gateway to the province and the paradise island, Panglao.

Airlines that fly to Manila

Philippine Airlines – offers the most direct flights from around the world to Manila.

Nearly every airline flies to Manila, check the full airline list on this non-official Manila Airport website: http://www.manila-airport.net/airlines.php

Cebu Pacific and Philippines Air Asia are budget airline options.

Domestic travel to Bohol

Once you arrive into Manila, the island of Bohol is a 1hr 25min flight from Manila. There are 43 non-stop flights daily costing from around $100 with Philippine Airlines, Philippines Air Asia and Cebu Pacific.

If you fly into Cebu, you have the affordable option of getting a ferry across to Bohol. There are two main options – Ocean Jet* (2hr travel time, approx $14) and Super Cat (2hr travel time $10).

*Ocean Jet is slightly more expensive but newer and more comfortable.

If you prefer to fly from Manila to Cebu and then take the ferry, Philippine Airlines and Philippines Air Asia and Cebu Pacific service the route with hundreds of flights daily from $50.

There are daily flights from Cebu to Bohol (TAG) but there are no non-stop flights. If you are travelling from Cebu – we advise you to take the ferry, it is faster and much cheaper.
