The Philippines is one of the world’s largest archipelago nations. It is situated in Southeast Asia in the Western Pacific Ocean. Its islands are classified into three main geographical areas – Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Because of its archipelagic nature, Philippines are a culturally diverse country. With its topography consisting of mountainous terrains, dense forests, plains, and coastal areas, the Philippines are rich in biodiversity. It is considered as one of the mega biodiversity countries in the world with a high percentage of flora and fauna endemism.

Weather



There are five types of climates in the Philippines: tropical rainforest, tropical savanna, tropical monsoon, humid subtropical and oceanic and two seasons - the wet season and the dry season.

Weather is tropical hot year-round with average temperature throughout the year is 24-32 degrees Celsius with relative high humidity.

November to February – cool and mostly dry
March to June – warm and mostly dry
July to October – warm and mostly wet
January to mid-March is the best time to visit because there are fewer tourists and the weather is mostly dry and not as hot. Perfect for cycling!

About Bohol



Bohol is the 10th largest island in the Philippines and is located in the Central Visayas. Bohol has a land area of 4117km long and a coastline of 261km. To the west of Bohol is Cebu Island that is easily accessible by ferry. The capital of Bohol is Tagbilaran City.

Numerous tourist resorts and dive centers dot the southern beaches. The Philippine tarsier, amongst the world's smallest primates, is indigenous to the island.
